Hi! I’m Francesca, born and bred in Borneo, and I love exploring the world in my tiny boots. Welcome to my blog!

Although I mainly write for a living, I keep myself busy with other things as well, from working on campervan setups in New Zealand to making music on the go. Since I write every day and often travel, I thought, ‘Why not share what I know and inspire others to unleash the travel bug in them’?

Besides being able to look back at the things I’ve done and the places I’ve explored, In My Tiny Boots also helps me connect with readers worldwide and travellers alike.

Sometimes I wonder if my parents named me Francesca on purpose.

Francesca means ‘free man’. Hence, me applying freedom to nearly everything I do. I think everyone should be free to explore and have a taste of the world, no matter how far or near.

In My Tiny Boots is where I document my travels, share my experiences, and cover travel tips you might find helpful.

I haven’t covered many countries, but I always find myself visiting a country over and over again. I’ve had the most memorable travel memories in Laos. Vietnam is by far a foreign country I enjoy coming back to.

I’m not in a rush to explore the world – there’s just so much to discover I might not be able to see everything that the world has to offer.

In this blog, I share my travel stories and give insights into my work and travel lifestyle. This blog also covers the following:

  • Destinations around the world: Asia, Europe, etc.
  • Travel tips: how to start travelling, how to stay safe on the road, etc.
  • People and Culture: what’s life like in different countries

Mainly, I’ll give readers some insights into my homeland Borneo, encouraging them to discover the world’s oldest rainforest – and to show people that we don’t live on trees.

Being an Aquarius, I like to go with the flow. So let’s see where my feet take me.

In 2013, I made my first solo trip. Vietnam was the first country I visited on my own. Then in 2015, I tried travelling with very little money and hitchhiked for the first time. I’ve been an active traveller since then.

I quit my office job to work as a freelancer. Freelancing has allowed me to spend more time with myself and my loved ones. And it allows me to embrace the digital nomad life.

I don’t travel full-time. But I’ll pack my bags whenever I feel like it and change my environment from time to time. For that reason, I’m generally a minimalist, always trying to keep my stuff at a minimum.

My friends call me by different names, and Franz Eliz is the name of my YouTube channel.  You can subscribe to my channel to follow my travel journey.

The Story Behind ‘In My Tiny Boots’

I love boots in general and often wear them wherever I go. Black, red, and yellow boots are my favourites. To me, boots represent many things. They represent strength, quality, support, identity, and experience. My boots have seen the world, and every mileage is a story of its own.

Spending years of travel, solo and with others, locally and overseas, has helped me grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. And I don’t plan to stop making the world my classroom. I believe everyone can benefit from making the world their classrooms, too.

Buckle up your boots, folks. The world is your oyster!
