Many guests enjoyed their stay at the hotel. You might enjoy yours, too. Read on for more details.
About Bold Hotel Jakarta
Located in the lively Mangga Besar locality of West Jakarta, this 2-star hotel is an excellent choice for budget travellers, even business travellers. The hotel is 14 km away from the Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport.
Bustling night markets, exciting souvenir shops, and an array of shopping malls, not to mention two KRL stations (Jayakarta and Sawah Besar), are all in close proximity to the hotel.
1 Night in Bold Hotel Jakarta
I was working in one of Jakarta’s fast-growing travel startups in 2016. So occasionally, I would fly to Jakarta for work.
While I could’ve stayed in a fancy hotel next to my office – as recommended by my company – I chose to wander far from my workplace and stay elsewhere.
Bold Hotel Jakarta was a new hotel, and I thought it looked interesting. So I booked a night there for the experience. I took a taxi to the hotel right after work.
Getting There
I remember having trouble locating the hotel. My taxi driver had the same problem, too. That was because the hotel’s signage was lacking in the size department. It’s probably bigger and better now, though.
However, locating the street as stated in the hotel’s address is a good start. That’s right; all you need to do is look for street no.8 in Jalan Mangga Besar.
Once you’ve found it, keep your eyes wide open for BOLD HOTEL JAKARTA. Doing this should be easy because Jalan Mangga Besar is usually crowded, meaning you’ll have plenty of time to look for the signage while you’re stuck in traffic.
The hotel is 120 meters away from public transportation, so this is a plus if you don’t drive in Jakarta.
Address: Jalan Mangga Besar VIII no 9B-9C, Mangga Besar, Jakarta, Indonesia, 11150
A Decent Boutique Hotel
As mentioned earlier, Bold Hotel Jakarta is a pleasant hotel, and I highly recommend it.
Upon checking into the hotel, I had to pay a deposit of Rp.80,000. That said, it may be helpful to have some cash ready if you’re required to pay a deposit upon checking into the hotel.
As far as I remember, the hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room I got – with apple-green walls – was also pretty decent. I was happy with the facilities provided there:
- comfy queen-sized bed
- writing table
- safe
- small TV
- air-conditioner
- mirror
- two small pillows
- two head pillows
Amenities such as toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, two towels, tissues, and a foot towel were also provided. As for the WiFi connection, it was satisfactory. I could stream YouTube videos happily.
Furthermore, the hotel also gave me a lovely souvenir. All I needed to do in order to get the souvenir was post a photo of me at Bold Hotel Jakarta on Instagram with the hashtag #boldhoteljakarta. I’m not sure if the hotel still does this, though.
Would I Stay at the Bold Hotel Jakarta Again?
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Bold Hotel Jakarta. I only stayed one night at the hotel as my colleagues advised me to stay closer to the company for safety reasons. There was a political protest at the time – I don’t remember what it was about.
Pricing-wise, Bold Hotel Jakarta is a value-for-money. I paid RM79.06/night for a windowless room with a queen bed. While this wasn’t the cheapest hotel in the area, it was worth it. The hotel was comfortable and beautiful, with wonderful staff. You can visit hotel booking sites like Agoda or Booking.com to get the exact rates.
I’d give the Bold Hotel Jakarta: 4 ½ out of 5.
That said, I would stay at the Bold Hotel Jakarta again.
